Our home in progress

Karen requested a virtual tour of our home since she's in Montana these days. Here it goes. I hope you can get a feel for it. It's hard to capture a whole room through a normal camera lens.

Street view. Our tree is blooming and I just planted a few flowers under it yesterday. I have to wait a few more weeks to plant the vincas.
This is what you see when you walk in the front door. To the left is a bedroom, our laundry room, and garage. (I didn't take any pictures of the two extra bedrooms because they are still just boxes. ha!) Also, right across from that mirrow is our living room. I didn't take any pictures of that either because there's not much to see yet. To the right of the front door, you see this. Another bedroom on the right and bathroom.The only way to get any useful picture of the bathroom was to take it through the mirror. So there you have it. :)The family room is in the center of the house on the left. The kitchen is on the right. It's a big great room feel. I've been working on these curtains for a couple weeks. I'm glad spring break came so they could be finished. I have some fabric left over that i'm going to make a couple pillows out of :)The picture below was taken facing the front door. The wall you see with the Palmer sign on it is the left wall in the picture above. Below is a view from the far corner by the back door.
Here is our kitchen from standing behind the table.Here is our bedroom. This was the hardest room to shoot so I'm just going to have to describe it. You walk in, our bed is on the left, bay window straight ahead, and bathroom entrance to the right. The closet entrance is attached to the bathroom. Our room still needs decorating....And this is our backyard. I'll let you think that's grass and not weeds. haha! We have our work cut out for us. We've gotten so much rain that the weeds are having a hay-day. We're excited though. We love our backyard. This is right out the back door to the left.

Missing you...

So Trevor was assigned to work on one of Deloitte's new clients during the second half of his busy season this year. Exciting new adventure, right? Did I mention they are located in TUCSON?! His assignment is for 5 weeks on this job. He drives down Monday morning, works like a mad-man all week long, and then comes home Friday evening for the weekend. Today is the end of the first week he's been on that client and I miss him like crazy. I don't like eating dinner alone (hence the reason I ate 2 meals with my family this week), I hate not being able to look forward to him coming home from work each night, I really don't like sleeping alone anymore, I miss his hugs...mainly I miss everything that a phone call lacks. Only 4 weeks to go! I'm counting down the days. On the bright side, when he's finished, busy season is over as well! Let the countdown begin...

In the meantime, I miss this man. I'm excited that it's Friday and he's coming home for the weekend!(This is a Trev with his oatmeal chocolate chip heart cookie I made him for valentine's day. Hot out of the oven while he was studying. Do you see the joy in his eyes?? haha

Kitchen Table

We got our first kitchen table this past week and absolutely love it! Here it is. It has a cherry top and black legs. We have two more chairs to go with it that will fit when we put the leaf in.

This is kind of a bad picture because the sunshine was shinning in. But you can see how nicely it fits in our kitchen :)

Playing Catch-up

Hi friends!

The last month has been super busy, yet super amazingly exciting! ;) haha Here's a taste of our recent adventures in a nutshell...





I finished finals just in time to get our new home ready to move in. We moved in the saturday before Christmas, set up our tree just in the nic-of-time, and enjoyed a wonderful first Christmas together.





Christmas Eve we spent with the Palmer side of our family. All the kids (and a few adults) dressed up and acted out the Christmas story. We then had a gift exchange with everyone.








Christmas morning we spent together at our new home and then headed over to my family's for brunch, gifts, and dinner. That night we drove up to the cabin, spent the night and went snowboarding the next day with a bunch of the Palmers.

We spent New Years in Yuma...

Yes, Yuma, AZ. Hoppin place :) Trevor had an inventory there New Years morning.

We spent this past week in Utah. There we visited family (it was great to see you Jeff & Alice and Tana & Matt), Skied in Park City and at Brighton, visit friends, spent time in Provo, went to the hot springs, ice skated...OUTSIDE, ate yummy food, served in the Salt Lake Temple (wow!), got a VIP tour of the Conference center, played cards, and did a little shopping! Trevor and I went up with another couple that Trevor went to high school with! We had a blast!




















































Now, back to reality. Trevor stated busy season which means early mornings to late nights at work (boo) and I start school tomorrow (bitter sweet...yucky homework/ stress/ studying, but it's my last semester! woohoo)

A house for Christmas?? WOW!

We've been working on buying this house for a few months now...and the time has finally come! We're moving in next weekend! We are so excited we can hardly stand it. :) It's going to be a week of finishing up finals, cleaning, packing and moving...yet i'm totally looking forward to it. We'll have more space for ya'll to come visit us :)

I'll post pictures of the inside once we're in...it's even better than the outside! :) We've been so blessed in this whole process that i'd feel ungrateful if I didn't make mention of all the miracles we've seen. The Lord's hand is in our lives daily if we but just look for it :)

Christmas Ball

This past weekend ASU institute had a Christmas Ball. The institute building was beautifully decorated with Christmas decor and everyone there looked ravishing :) They had a catered dinner with a dance following. Trevor and I and Caraline and Ryan (the other married couple in the picture standing in the back with us), decided not to stay for the dance. Rather, we went over to Caraline and Ryan's place and played some fun games :) It was loads of fun! We love that couple and can't wait to go camping with them ;)

I made the headband i'm wearing in the picture and am quite proud of it. I'll take a closer picture of it and post it later for you to check it out! :)

I love this Christmas season. Everyone is filled with love (except the stressed students at school). Finals are over next Wednesday...i'm counting down the days!

Adrenaline pumping funny morning

How many of you have had a morning like this??...

Yesterday morning Trevor and I carpooled into work and school. I dropped him off at the light rail at ASU so he could ride into downtown Phoenix and then hoped into the driver's seat and then parked the car in the institute parking garage.

Important note: We both have a set of keys to each of our cars. Naturally, since Trev drove, we had his set of keys. The reason this is relevant is because he hated carrying around two key fobs. Those "clickers" really make your set of keys more like a wad and he doesn't like that in his pocket. To solve this solution, he leaves the key fob to my car at home.

Anyways, so I park the car at the institute, lock the doors the old-school way- from the inside since I didn't have the clicker, and that was that. Except then I realized I wanted to leave something in my car so I didn't have to carry it around in my backpack all day. So I walk back to the car, insert the key into the door, turn the key...it unlocks...AND THE ALARM GOES OFF! I was on the second floor of the garage and it echoed so loud! It scared me so bad, my heart started pounding, my adrenaline was pumping, and my mind was running a million miles an hour thinking of ways to turn it off. Since I had opened it from the passenger side, I dove across the car, stuck the key in the ignition and started it...that did NOTHING! It still thought it was being stolen. I clicked a few more buttons...nothing. So I called Trevor.

Me: "Trev, the car alarm is going off and I can't turn it off!"

Him: "Are you serious? Did you start the car?"

Me: "Yes!"

Him: "What?"

Me: "YES!" (yelling because it's so loud)

Him: "Unlock all the doors?"

Me: "Yeah nothing works. I need the key fob! Why don't you at least keep the freaking key fob in the car? I don't know what to do. It's so loud! I have to go to class soon."

Him: "I'm coming."

Me: "What are you going to do?"

Him: "I don't know."

Right then, it turned off by itself. Thank heavens. I was so relieved. But I was shaking...it scared me so bad. All my mind was thinking was, "how am I going to turn this off. I have to go to class, Trevor has to be to work, and our clicker is 45 min away!"

All was fine, and I was calming down. The car door was still open and the alarm was off so I went to open the driver's door...AND IT GOES OFF AGAIN!! Scared me half to death again. I was still on the phone with Trev and our conversation went about the same way. We finally decided to just lock the doors and walk away. So I did. Slowly. Waiting for it to turn off. It did...finally.

I went to class all hyped up on adrenaline! There was no doubt I was awake that morning. I opted not to get my scriptures out of the car for institute because I was so nervous to open the car. The time came at the end of the day when I needed my power cord. I was nervous, but I opened it from the driver's side with the key this time, and no alarm. Talk about a relief.

I laugh so hard about this now...at the time it wasn't so funny. Especially when people at the institute look at you like you're stealing the car, or ask "do you not know how to turn it off?" It was quite the experience. I will never drive that car without the key fob again.
